NDC confident of winning Kumawu seat with unopposed candidate-National Organizer Joseph Yamin

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed confidence in its chances of winning the upcoming by-election in the Kumawu Constituency. According to the National Organizer of the NDC, Joseph Yamin, the party’s candidate is unopposed and ready to win the elections. He also criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for allegedly considering disqualifying candidates.

Yamin revealed that the NDC has already started working on the ground in Kumawu, adding that the party’s candidate has satisfied all requirements to contest in the by-election. He also cited the party’s success in winning constituencies where the figures didn’t initially favor the NDC, such as the Asankragua area.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has set May 23rd, 2020 as the date for the by-election following the death of the NPP MP for the area, Philip Basoah. The NDC’s confidence in its candidate and chances of winning the Kumawu seat highlights the party’s determination to make gains in the upcoming by-election and increase its representation in Parliament.
