Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has officially launched his campaign to contest for the flagbearer slot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 elections. The campaign launch was held in HO and was attended by party supporters and officials from across the country.
In his speech, Mahama expressed his gratitude to the party supporters who accompanied Professor Joshua Alabi to pick his nomination forms. He highlighted the importance of the 2024 elections and called for bravery of heart and clarity of purpose from the NDC. Mahama stated that Ghana demands experience, not experiments, and that it is time for togetherness and a common goal of improving the living conditions and general wellbeing of the country.
Mahama paid tribute to the Volta Region and NDC stalwarts during his campaign launch in HO. He highlighted the towering significance of the region in the history of the NDC and praised the many illustrious sons and daughters of the Volta Region who have toiled and continue to work tirelessly for the party. Mahama expressed his gratitude to the late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills and former President Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings of blessed memory, who inspired the formation of the NDC.

The launch of Mahama’s campaign has generated a lot of excitement among party supporters and political observers in the country. Many see him as a strong candidate who has the experience and vision needed to lead Ghana to greater heights. The 2024 elections are expected to be fiercely contested, with the NDC seeking to regain power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mahama’s campaign launch comes at a time when Ghana is facing a number of challenges, including economic hardship, rising inflation, and a surge in COVID-19 cases. He has promised to tackle these issues head-on and work towards building a better and more prosperous Ghana for all its citizens.
As the campaign heats up, all eyes will be on Mahama and the NDC as they seek to convince Ghanaians that they are the best choice to lead the country forward. With his vast experience and deep knowledge of Ghana’s political landscape, Mahama is poised to make a strong case for himself and his party in the months to come.
