Data from Global InfoAnalytics Shows Kennedy Agyapong Leading NPP Flagbearership Race
As the National Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its flagbearership race in 2024, new data from Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has gained significant ground in recent months.
According to the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwa, Kennedy Agyapong’s endorsement by NPP supporters has risen from 14% in January 2023 to 21% in April 2023, due to his strong campaign efforts.
The data also showed that Agyapong has 30% of the endorsements in his home region, the Central Region, followed by 32% and 30% from the Eastern and Greater Accra regions, respectively.
However, former Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanten’s support has dropped from 40% to 37% during the same period, while Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a slight lead with 39% support, despite dropping from 40% in the same timeframe.
Dankwa noted that Agyapong is the only candidate showing growth in the polling numbers, and while the data covers NPP supporters only, it is essential for candidates to reassess themselves not to be taken by surprise during the party’s primaries.
Other known candidates in the race include Boakye Agyarko, Joe Ghartey, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
In conclusion, the data from Global InfoAnalytics indicates that the race for the NPP flagbearership is heating up, and Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign efforts are paying off, but with several known candidates in the race, it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in the end.
