Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and an aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made it clear that he will not let himself be used by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to destroy the NDC. The NDC flagbearer hopeful expressed his dismay over the NPP government’s handling of his businesses, claiming that they had collapsed his banks and tried to ruin every business under his control. He promised to never let the NPP come between him and the NDC.
Dr. Duffuor made his intentions known when he addressed NDC delegates in Adansi Asokwa Constituency during his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region. He reminded the party members that he had funded the NDC and that nothing could change his love for the party. He also vowed to do everything in his power to return the NDC to power to make Ghana better.
The former finance minister and NDC flagbearer hopeful submitted his nomination form at the party’s headquarters in Accra on March 23, and committed himself to serve the NDC and Ghana. He promised to restore hope and national pride in Ghanaians and put the economy back on the road to recovery and prosperity. Dr. Duffuor believes that the NDC has done it before and can do it again, and that there are tears in the eyes of Ghanaians and pain in their hearts due to the mismanagement of the economy.
